City tour

City-tour –  is the tour I recommend you start discovering our city with, especially if you came to St. Petersburg for the first time. This tour will give you a general idea of the city and in the future you will be able to return to your favorite places and get to know them in more details.

During the tour, I will be showing the historic city center with its beautiful palaces and cathedrals, the famous architectural ensembles, narrating about its rich history. We will be staying in the most picturesque places of the city,where you can admire the wonderful views and take some pictures as a keepsake.

During the tour you will see:

 Nevsky Prospect - the main thoroughfare of the city,

where every building is living history.

 

The Kazan Cathedral – the pantheon of military glory of the heroes of 1812 and

the temple where is kept the holy of holies – the Kazan icon of the Mother of God.

 Ostrovsky Square with a majestic monumentto Catherine II,

against the background of the famous Aleksandrinsky Theater.

 

Arts Square – a magnificent architectural ensemblecomprising the building of the Russian Museum,

the Mikhailovsky Theatre, Philharmonia named after Shostakovich, the luxury "Europe" Hotel,

a monument to Pushkin and the Museum of the Ethnography.

 Karl Rossi Street – astonishingly proportional, interesting

for its original architectural design.

 Engineer's Castle - the residence of Paul I.

 

The Summer Garden - the oldest in St. Petersburg.The story of its creation is

associated with the construction of the city.

 

The Savior on Spilled Blood is one of the symbols of the city,

the cathedral with the tragic history.

 

  Isaac's Square - one of the centralsquares of the city, where the St. Isaac's

Cathedral is -the largest cathedralin Russia, as well as the famous hotel “Astoria”.

 The Bronze Horseman- 

another symbol of ou rcity, a monument erected by Catherine II in honor of Peter the Great. 

 St. Nicholas Cathedral with its golden domesand irreproachable design

of bell tower, reflected in the waters of the Kryukov Canal.

 

 The Sphinxes - mystical creaturesthat once guarded the entrance to the tomb

of Egyptian pharaoh Amenhotep III,now located on the waterfront.

 

 The Spit of Basil Island - a place from which opens perhaps

the most memorable view of the Neva and the city

The Winter Palace- the Winter Residence of Russian sovereigns.

The  Peter and Paul Fortress - place of birth of St. Petersburg.
